GF Fermentech (formerly Sungwun Bio) produces bioactive ingredients using microbial strain development, fermentation, biotransformation, purification and formulation. Its lead product is vitamin K2 (menaquinone-7), sold under the MediQ7 brand; it also supplies nattokinase, lactobionic acid and phytosphingosine. It is a subsidiary of Genofocus.
BIOTECH INVOLVEMENT
Core; MK-7 is produced by fermentation of Bacillus subtilis var. natto followed by purification to >96% MK-7. The company also markets UltraShield stabilization technology for MK-7 formulations.
