BIOTECH INVOLVEMENT
Core technology is the Pop-Out-Plasmid (POP) system: the gene of interest is chromosomally integrated and stably maintained at 30°C, while a shift to 37°C excises the chromosomal origin of replication, halting cell division but leaving cells metabolically active. This decouples growth from production and eliminates the need for antibiotics and chemical inducers like IPTG. An enabling platform for recombinant protein and plasmid DNA production; strain engineering and synthetic biology are entirely central.
