BUSINESS
Clean Food Group is a London-headquartered biotech company founded in 2022 (building on 8+ years of research at the University of Bath by Professor Chris Chuck) that produces sustainable oils and fats via yeast fermentation of food waste streams such as surplus bread. In September 2025 acquired a 12-acre, 1M-liter fermentation facility in Knowsley, Liverpool from the administration of Algal Omega 3 — positioning them to skip the typical pilot-to-commercial build cycle. They recently launched CLEANOil™ for cosmetics (regulatory approved in UK, EU, and US) developed with THG Labs and have partnerships with Döhler and Alianza Team for food applications.
