BUSINESS
Produces PHA (polyhydroxyalkanoates) via fermentation as fully bio-based, biodegradable polymers for packaging, textiles, tableware, and coatings. Bluepha, founded in 2016 by scientists from Tsinghua and Peking Universities, is headquartered in Beijing with manufacturing in Yancheng, Jiangsu Province, China. Its first commercial production facility (BioFAB1) is operational with 25,000 tonnes/year PHA capacity.
