BUSINESS
Solabia is a Puteaux/Paris-headquartered French ingredient and diagnostics group founded in 1972, serving cosmetics, nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, food testing, and clinical microbiology customers. Prior acquisitions of AppleChem, Plastlabor, PolymerExpert, and Bioactor, plus three further deals announced in March 2026: Mibelle Biochemistry (Switzerland), SEQENS Botanical Actives and In-Vitro Diagnostics (France), and Xebios Diagnostics Group (Germany/Netherlands).
BIOTECH INVOLVEMENT
Solabia operates microbial fermentation for polysaccharide production (including the Glycopatch line, made from vegetable-derived sorbitol and yeast extract), enzymatic biocatalysis for oligosaccharides, ceramide analogs, and oligopeptides, and enzymatic bioconversion for polyphenol-enriched extracts. The group is also a vertically integrated producer of microbiological culture media and peptones used by external pharmaceutical, food testing, and biotech fermentation customers, and through Xebios and the SEQENS IVD business operates a substantial in-vitro diagnostics platform.
