Mango Materials

Mango Materials, founded in 2010 and based in Redwood City, CA, produces polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) biopolymer pellets (branded YOPP and YOPP+) from waste methane for use in apparel fibers, rigid goods, packaging, and as a carbon source for wastewater nitrogen removal. The company operates at the Easterly Wastewater Treatment Plant in Vacaville, CA, where it uses biogas as feedstock, and has partnered with Black & Veatch on engineering and BioMADE (with Department of Defense funding) to develop a decentralized manufacturing model targeting wastewater facilities.
