Locus Ingredients is an operating division of Locus Fermentation Solutions (Locus FS), an Ohio-based company that uses proprietary fermentation technology to produce biosurfactants and other biological alternatives to petrochemicals. Locus Ingredients specifically produces sophorolipid biosurfactants (branded Amphi) for personal care, home care, and industrial formulations, positioned as replacements for petrochemical- and palm oil-based surfactants. The parent company Locus FS has 160+ employees across 11 offices, multiple operating divisions (agriculture, animal nutrition, bio-energy, mining, ingredients, consumer brands), and is the only US biosurfactant producer with TSCA Premanufacture Notice approval for scaled production.
